Loging, S. (2025, November 8). SNAP benefit delays affect residents at RecoVET as federal stalemate continues. First Alert 4. https://www.firstalert4.com/2025/11/09/snap-benefit-delays-affect-residents-recovet-federal-stalemate-continues/
As the federal government shutdown nears 40 days, veterans at RecoVET in St. Louis are feeling the strain from delayed SNAP (food assistance) benefits.

RecoVET, founded in 2022 in partnership with ARCA (Assisted Recovery Centers of America), provides housing and recovery support for veterans working toward stability and sobriety. When SNAP payments were paused, local partners and restaurants like The Shack and The Corner Pub and Grill stepped up to ensure residents had meals and groceries.

Even amid uncertainty, RecoVET’s veterans and community partners continue to stand together—proving that compassion and connection are powerful forces for recovery and hope.

Overdose Awareness Day
August 31, 2023
Overdose Awareness Day is a solemn occasion that sheds light on the devastating consequences of drug overdoses. It serves as a reminder that we must come together as a global community to support those affected by addiction, to remember those we've lost, and to work toward a future where overdose-related deaths are preventable. By raising awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for change, we can all play a role in saving lives and addressing the opioid epidemic.
